Privacy Policy
Last updated September 2, 2026
This explains what soothing.ai collects, why, and what happens to it. Short version: we collect the minimum we need to make your soundscapes work, we don't sell your data, and we don't show ads.
What we collect
- Scene descriptions. The text you type is sent to AI models to compose and generate your scene, and is stored with the scene so it can be replayed.
- Account details. If you sign in with Google we receive your name, email address, and profile photo. We never see your password.
- An anonymous id. A random cookie identifies your browser so your scenes stay in your library and free-tier limits work without an account.
- Billing. If you subscribe, payment is handled by Stripe. We store your subscription status and Stripe customer id — never your card number.
- Logs. Standard server logs (IP address, request time) kept briefly for security and rate limiting.
We don't run third-party advertising or tracking pixels.
Where your data goes
Generating a scene involves sending your description to service providers who process it on our behalf:
- AI models via OpenRouter (scene composition) and fal.ai (audio and imagery, including ElevenLabs and Stability models)
- Amazon Web Services — generated audio and images are stored in a private bucket
- Stripe for payments and Google for sign-in, if you use them
These providers receive only what's needed to do their job. Scene descriptions are not linked to your name or email when sent to AI providers.
Public scenes
Scenes are public by default: their title, description, artwork, and audio can appear on the Explore page and be replayed by anyone with the link. Your name and email are never shown. Avoid typing anything into a scene description you wouldn't want public.
Retention and deletion
Scenes and cached audio are kept so links keep working. If you'd like your account, scenes, or anything else deleted, email hello@soothing.ai and we'll remove it within 30 days.
Your rights
Depending on where you live (for example under GDPR or CCPA), you may have rights to access, correct, export, or delete your personal data, and to object to processing. Email us and we'll honor them.
Children
soothing isn't directed at children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect their personal information.
Changes
If this policy changes materially we'll note it here with a new date. Questions: hello@soothing.ai. See also our Terms of Service.
